Using products that are natural and safe for my family's health is important to me. Baking soda and vinegar can clean just about everything. Add a natural household cleaner concentrate and that's just about all you need. Don't fill your cupboards with many different specialized bottled cleaners. Most are just the same thing in different dilutions. Add the water yourself (to a safer product to begin with) and save a ton of money and shelf space. |

Freedom & Simplicity™ in Cleaning to come All Purpose Natural Cleaning ConcentrateThieves Household Cleaner can be mixed to clean just about everything. We've also used other all purpose natural concentrates, but our favorite - it's most effective - is Thieves. Thieves Household Cleaner or others can be used for everything from windows, to furniture, to floors, to toilets, to car tires and engines. Thieves Household Cleaner can even be used in the dishwasher and laundry. See our God's Scent-sational Apothecary's Chest™ page for ordering info for Thieves Household Cleaner. (Proportion guide included on bottle.) LaundryThieves Cleaner (above) does a great job in the washer - cleans and disinfects (1/2 - 1 Tbl. per load.) Homemade laundry soap can save you a lot of money, but effectiveness is sometimes a question, as is soap residue. Some have had great results with this - it seems to depend on water condition. I haven't experimented enough yet. (I'll post various recipes some another time.) Soap Nuts are the most natural product you can use and highly effective. NaturOli brand is 5 star rated, others I've read of are inferior quality. Buying the 3 or 4# bag, for 480-640 loads, will cost you less than a dime a load, including shipping! I use to love ionizing ceramic beads "laundry balls". I don't see the brand we used to use, but many of these are still getting high ratings. (They are encased in a plastic housing.) Add Vinegar to the rinse, as a deodorizer and softener (it removes soap residue). If machine drying, you can add a drop of Essential Oil (Young Living) to a damp washcloth and put in with the clothes to give them a nice scent, (if you like that sort of thing.) You can also add "dryer balls" to cut drying time and static. Commercial ones are made of plastic and such. We are trying out recycled wool dryer balls. Want to buy a natural "typical" laundry specific products? Biokleen, Earth Friendly and Seventh Generation laundry liquids, and BacOut (enzyme) and Zainz stain removers, are what we have used that are safe, inexpensive and effective. Earth Friendly Laundry Products Seventh Generation Laundry Products DishesCastile natural soap and vinegar, baking soda for stains and cooked on foods. Save on your dish soap by diluting it and putting it in a spray bottle and spraying your dishes. You can do this with vinegar too as a grease cutter. Biokleen and Earth Friendly hand dish soap are natural, inexpensive brands of dishwashing specific products. In dishwasher - homemade dishwashing powder, vinegar in rinse. Biokleen or Seventh Generation. |
